Thomas Sudell is a graduate of Oxford University (2015) where he specialised in Old English (Anglo-Saxon). His dissertation on Tolkien’s use of Old English metre in The Fall of Arthur was subsequently published in Tolkien Studies: An Annual Scholarly Review, Vol. 13, and his specialist knowledge of the subject has led to freelance metrical analysis for academic purposes.
Thomas’ translations of Anglo-Saxon poetry have since appeared in Littoral Magazine, Areopagus, Briefly Zine, Eternal Haunted Summer, Seaside Gothic, and the New College 2025 Arts Anthology (Oxford University) with other work appearing in Carmina Magazine and Illuminations of the Fantastic. A complete list of his publications may be found here.
